DPF regen had been aborting for months, hence the light and the limp mode on hills. They saw one through. The Ford has stayed healthy, and that climb is dull again. Highly chuffed.

Reception was great, calm, and they explained a wait without me having to hover by the counter like a spare part. Someone knew the job. I left fair made up, and the drive is why. The Ford pulls the trailer up the yard hill without the fade near the top, and solo it cruises with less effort. Town is civil. I have done that hill three times since and it has stayed a pull rather than a fight. The desk made the start easy and the result made the booking obvious. I would not dither next time.

Belting. Mid-range is back.

Back again with a different car. The Kamiq pulls up the hill out of the close and the fuel economy on the school run is a touch better. They texted to say I could pop back if I wanted it finer.

Free coffee turned a wait into a sit-down, and it was good enough that I stayed for another. The Audi afterwards was the better half of the morning. Smashing.

Overtakes are the obvious bit, but the real gain is how little it hunts. The hill by the retail park is one gear, the cruise sits, and I am not feeding it on a headwind the way I used to. Passengers in the Volkswagen have mentioned it feels less busy. I agree. Fuel on the longer days is slightly better and the short ones are no worse. Spot on. I came home the long way and knew within a few miles. The rest of the month has just repeated the point until I stopped being surprised.

The EGR fault made the BMW feel thick, then it stumbled on the hill. Sorted. Pull is even, idle is even, and I am dead chuffed.

Hannah C

It used to feel busy, always changing down, always a bit thick. The opposite now. Cleaner throttle, calmer cruise, and the hill by the hospital is one gear. Lush result.

Alan B

He did an amazing job on the Volkswagen. Trailer on, the lane that used to finish it is a pull. Trailer off, it cruises. Bowled over.

Free coffee in a proper cup, a biscuit I had not asked for, and no rush. I enjoyed the wait more than I expected to. Then the BMW on the road, holding seventh on the rise that always kicked it down, with a mid-range that makes a pass ordinary. It trickles in town. I grinned like a fool and I am not embarrassed. Buzzing. A week later that hill is dull and I am glad of dull. The coffee was a nice detail. The driving is why the keys will go back there next time.

Suresh A

I am changing down less and smiling more. The mid-range does the work the gearbox used to panic about. Made up.

AdBlue one day, DPF the next, and the van miserable on both. That routine is over. It climbs with the tools in and neither warning has piped up. Fair made up.

The DPF had been a failed-MOT worry as much as a driving one in the Audi. They got it regenerating, the light went out, and the next test was uneventful. The hill to work is a pull. Couldn't be happier.

Not the first car I have taken there. The Evoque pulls up the hill near home far more easily, and the fuel economy is slightly better. Their follow-up call covered the only thing I was unsure about.

In the Audi the gain is between forty and sixty, which is my whole life on that bypass. Shorter overtakes, calmer hills, a cruise that holds a gradient without a kick. I am changing down less on the B-road home and the town section is cleaner, not sharper. Two weeks of the same loop and I am less fed up at the door. Well chuffed. It is not a party piece. It is a more driveable car in the exact places I already drive, which is the only test that was ever going to matter to me.

EGR trouble had the Ford hunting like it could not decide on a gear. Cleared, it pulls the rise and idles evenly. Spot on.

Elis W

The DPF light and the AdBlue countdown were a double act in the BMW. Both have left. It pulls the hill, a bottle lasts, and I am well happy.

Harry V

Over the moon. The Mercedes pulls.

Cold mornings are a clean getaway now, not a pause and a hunt, and the hill by the school is no longer the event it was. I have done the run in the dark and in the wet. It stays in gear, the throttle is sweeter, and it has not turned snatchy with children and bags aboard. The longer weekend trip was calmer too, less foot on the cruise, more left at the other end. Delighted. I had been specific that I did not want it louder. They listened. The car is still ours. It just does less complaining.

Two vans and now the pickup, all through this garage. The Amarok pulls the trailer up the hill that the last van only managed after its own remap, so I knew what I was going back for. Day-to-day fuel economy, trailer off, is better than I was led to expect from a tune. I had a question about how hard to work it on the first thousand miles and they answered it properly, then rang once that distance was done to ask what the towing had been like. I mentioned a slight shunt when rolling away and they had me in before the week was out. A small change, no charge, and it has been smooth since. I will keep taking whatever I am running to the same place.
