I went to DMS Automotive around a year ago for a Stage 1 remap on my Audi RS3, along with a gearbox tune, soft limiter removal and pops and bangs. I also have a downpipe fitted. Firstly, the guys at DMS were really nice, friendly and informative throughout the process. The car made 480hp and 650nm, which I was happy with. They explained that the car could potentially have made around 500hp but my air filter was quite clogged, so I have no issue with the power figures themselves. My main disappointment was with how the car actually felt and with some of the specific things I had requested. The car felt very similar to stock after the remap, with most of the noticeable extra power seeming to come in towards the top end, particularly on the motorway. I also brought two friends to DMS to have their cars tuned, and they both had a similar impression. If you’re looking for an OEM-style tune with smooth, progressive power delivery, then DMS may be exactly what you’re after. My bigger issue was with the pops and bangs. I specifically explained that I wanted the more aggressive, gunshot/ASBO-style pops and bangs that you see on other RS3s, and this was noted down. Unfortunately, the result was nowhere near what I had asked for and the pops were extremely quiet. The soft limiter removal was also requested but wasn’t carried out, which was disappointing. There was also an issue with the auto start-stop. I hadn’t asked for this to be changed as I could already disable it myself in the car, but DMS turned it off anyway which I didn’t mind. When I drove away, start-stop was still active but I could no longer manually disable it in the car. I returned to DMS and they did rectify this, so credit where it’s due. However, after the second visit, the car was then popping in Comfort mode, which wasn’t something I wanted, while the pops remained very quiet in both Comfort and Dynamic. Overall, I don’t have an issue with the staff or the power figures. My disappointment is mainly that some of the specific things I asked for weren’t delivered as requested. I spent a fair amount of money on the tune and, unfortunately, I left feeling that I hadn’t really got the result I was looking for. I would have considered going back a third time to have the pops in Comfort removed and the pops and bangs adjusted again, but I got the impression that there was some frustration when I returned the second time. On top of that, it’s around a 2.5-hour drive each way for me, so it’s a 5-hour round trip just to have the car looked at again. Overall, a friendly and professional team, and the car made good figures, but unfortunately the end result didn’t match what I specifically asked for. Based on my experience, I’d say DMS is probably better suited to someone looking for a smooth, OEM-style tune rather than someone wanting a much more aggressive setup with loud pops and bangs.

Exceptional Service and an Incredible Tune – Highly Recommended There are only a handful of well-known tuners that have been established for many years and have built a strong reputation within the industry, so I had a few options to choose from. In the end, I decided to go with DMS Automotive, largely because I had personally driven friends’ cars that had been tuned by DMS. After experiencing their cars and seeing how well the power was delivered, I can wholeheartedly say that choosing DMS was probably one of the best decisions I have made. From my very first contact with DMS through to driving away, the whole experience was exceptional. Tony, Rob, Julie and Darren were all an absolute pleasure to deal with. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming and professional, and I immediately felt that I was dealing with people who genuinely knew their cars and cared about getting things right for the customer. I had quite a long drive to get to DMS, but I can honestly say it was well worth the journey. Before any tuning was carried out, the car was put through its baseline testing so we could establish the actual power and torque figures. The car was already producing 620 BHP from the factory, which is impressive in itself. BMWs are well known for sometimes producing more power than their official figures suggest, so it was interesting to see exactly what the car was delivering before the work began. Tony then took the time to sit down with me and go through exactly how I wanted the car to feel and behave. This was something I particularly appreciated because it wasn’t simply a case of asking what power figure I wanted and having a generic map applied. We discussed the power delivery, throttle response, gear changes and how the torque should be delivered throughout the rev range and across the gears. I also wanted some additional burbles, pops and crackles, but nothing excessive or ridiculously loud. Tony listened to everything I wanted and explained what could be achieved, and the final setup was configured exactly to my preferences. Once the work was completed, it was time for the long drive home. And WHAT. A. DRIVE. HOME! The difference was immediately noticeable. In Comfort mode, the car remained completely civilised and comfortable to drive, just as it should be. However, as soon as you pressed the accelerator, the additional power was there instantly. It didn’t feel like an uncomfortable or aggressive car that had simply been given more horsepower; the power delivery felt smooth, controlled and incredibly usable. Then I put it into Sports+ mode. Everything just seemed to come together. The throttle response, power delivery and gear changes all worked together perfectly to give you one seriously fast car. The gear changes were incredibly smooth, the torque delivery was immense and the way the power built through the gears was fantastic. It genuinely felt like I was driving a completely different car. What impressed me most wasn’t simply the increase in power. It was how well the additional power had been integrated into the car. It still felt like a BMW, but a much faster, sharper and more exciting version of one. The car is now something I look forward to driving even more than I did before. The whole experience with DMS was first class from beginning to end. The professionalism, knowledge, attention to detail and, perhaps most importantly, the willingness to listen to exactly what I wanted made the experience even better. A big thank you to Tony, Rob, Julie and Darren for looking after me and for doing such an incredible job. The long journey was absolutely worth it, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend DMS Automotive to anyone considering getting their car tuned. I know exactly where I’ll be going with my future cars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had the pleasure of visiting DMS Automotive. From the moment I arrived, everyone was spot on. Tony was extremely knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and took the time to explain how the tune would be tailored to my driving style. I took my M135i in for a Stage 1 remap and custom gearbox map, and the difference is ridiculous. The car feels completely different now. It pulls so much harder, the throttle response is miles better, and the gearbox feels much sharper. Another big reason I chose DMS was that they can unlock the ECUs on 2020+ BMWs, so I didn’t have to mess around with shipping the ecu. It made the whole process much easier. The waiting area is decent too. They’ve got a gaming rig, snacks and drinks, so you can relax while the work is being carried out. I travelled four hours to get there, and I’d happily do it again. That probably says enough about how happy I am with the result. Massive thanks to Tony and the team at DMS. I’m really happy with the car and would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking about getting their car mapped.

If you have a L663 (new shape) defender especially a D200 or D250 etc, get yourselves to DMS in Ringwood Dorset and have the engine remapped. My D200 has been transformed. I have roughly double the power and double the torque. I’m not so much talking about top speed or 0-60 times, I’m talking being able to pull out of junction with a bit more confidence or overtaking a caravan or lorry on an A road. It really transforms your car. Thank me later 😎

Got my M340d tuned by DMS yesterday. Is now a same day service! It was a long day because they were doing multiple people on the same day and my car had a few issues with the Adblue which needed fixing but thought I would post my thoughts on the group for others as a few people asked me to. Firstly DMS were absolutely excellent, very accommodating and customer focussed. Took me out on a test drive to make sure I was happy or if I wanted to tweak anything, even added some minor details to the coding which they thought I would enjoy (which I very much did!). Offered to get me any food and drinks I wanted while I waited. They listened to me about what I wanted from the tune (being higher power figures and drivability changes without super crazy torque figures to protect the gearbox). Came away with 440bhp and 890nm. Tony who works there personally phoned me today to ask how I’m finding it and if I’ve had any issues, and Rob made 100% sure my car had no faults whatsoever before I left. He showed me exact sources of problems underneath the car, even though it was getting late. The staff there really care about customer service it feels. The car feels very different to say the least! Super strong low down and all through the mid range but the bit which shocked me the most is the top end, where diesel normally lacks… Huge huge difference at speeds above 70, behaves a lot like a petrol car at higher speeds it just doesn’t stop pulling. I feel like I look down at the speedometer and I’m doing 20-30mph more than what I was doing before which will take some getting used to 😂 After a few stressful faults with the Adblue, NOx sensors and heat sensors etc it’s quite a relief that the car is back to working order and came with a bit of extra fun! Definitely recommend their service just be prepared that it may take longer than expected, much more appealing than a 4 day long job shipping the ECU off to Finland though. If you’re wondering whether to take your car here, I can recommend DMS without reservation.

Honestly, I can’t recommend Tony and DMS Automotive enough. From the very first conversation, Tony was an absolute legend. He took the time to actually listen to what I wanted from the car rather than just throwing a generic map on it. He explained everything properly, answered all my questions and made the whole process feel completely stress-free. The best part was being able to actually have input into the way the car was tuned — power delivery, throttle response, gearbox behaviour, sound and all the little details that make the car feel like your car. You can tell straight away that Tony genuinely knows his stuff and takes pride in what he does. I took my M440i in and the final result is absolutely unreal — 475 BHP and 680 Nm. The difference is night and day. It feels so much more alive, pulls ridiculously hard and the power delivery is exactly what I wanted. It’s not just a big dyno number either; the car actually feels properly refined and usable. What impressed me most was the attention to detail and the fact that Tony genuinely cared about getting the result right. Nothing felt rushed, and he was happy to go through everything with me. If you’re thinking about getting your car tuned, I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend DMS Automotive and Tony. The results speak for themselves, but the knowledge, communication and customer service are what really stood out to me. Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish. Took my bmw m4 competition in for a rolling road tune and the whole experience exceeded expectations. The team were incredibly knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and took the time to make sure the setup was perfect for my car and myself. Went down on 06.06.26 2.5 hour drive and such a great experience from the beginning to the end. Had so much information from Tony. Exactly how I wanted my car set up and let me tell you when he says the figures he's spot on. I went in with 180 BHP came out with 311 BHP. He told me 310 BHP so pretty much bang on. I’m extremely happy with what the guys did with my car — the results exceeded my expectations. After the ECU and TCU Stage 1, the car became a real “monster,” while still being very smooth and flexible in every gear. From the stock 455 bhp and 700 Nm, they managed to push it to 570 bhp and an impressive 915 Nm — the difference is huge and you can feel it immediately. Big thanks to Tony for clearly explaining the whole process — I knew exactly what was going to be done and what to expect. I booked a tune at DMS with Tony who was amazing and very knowledgeable. I booked it in two months prior as I needed to save the money for the tune its now two weeks before my tune and my head unit on my car has blown up. this is going to cost me £4000 And I just can’t afford to repair my car as well as tune it 🥹 so I called up DMS and explained my issue to a lady called Julie. I was really surprised by the response she was very understanding and all around lovely and they even gave me my deposit back and at this time the money really makes a difference I didn’t expect this And I really think they’ve gone above and beyondI cannot fault DMS whatsoever. They’re an incredible company with an incredible team and I can’t wait to pre-book with them. Thank you for my experience and I will see you all soon.
