The A4 drove in healthy and came out a mess. Smoke from the first junction, a flat spot that became a total loss of power, and a dashboard covered in lights. I could not keep it on the dual carriageway. It was undrivable, so I had it trailered home and wrote to him with a video of the smoke. He did not offer to undo the file. He sent a price list. Diagnostics, a “stage two to clear it”, and another dyno run, all to be paid before he would book it in. I declined. The car then failed its MOT, emissions and smoke, with the tester refusing a retest until the fault was actually repaired. I forwarded that failure to the tuner. He said a failed MOT was a reason to spend more with him, not a reason for him to stand by the work. I have heard nothing useful since. The Audi is still off the road, the original fee is gone, and the only interest he has shown is in taking a second payment.

Had my DPF deleted by Russ and his "team" only to find out the work is outsourced. Since the delete the car smokes and there is a MIL light on. Russ doesn't want to know and when I asked him about looking at it, wanted me to book in and pay again. Utter BS.

Part of the job was a DPF removal. The car failed its MOT on that straight away. When I told him, he said that was the risk and he does not cover MOT failures. I paid for work that left the car illegal to use, and he would not undo it.

I should have turned round when he rushed the C220 off the ramp. On the way home it started smoking, then the power fell away, and by the time I reached the lights it was undrivable. Limp mode, a rattling idle, smoke in the mirrors. I rang from the roadside. He said bring it back and he would “do another map”, and he named a figure before he asked what the car was doing. I had it recovered to him. He would not open the shutter until I had paid that second amount. I did not. An MOT station failed it later that week: smoke, emissions, and a list of warning lights. I sent him the certificate. He replied that MOTs were not his problem and that the car needed more of his time, which would not be free. Nothing has been repaired. The Mercedes is in my drive, not legal to use, and every conversation with him has been another demand for money.

After the tune the car was undrivable, kangarooing and cutting out. I complained and asked him to undo it. He turned on me, said he knew where I lived, and told me not to keep ringing. I felt threatened and I have not been back. The car is still not right.

I cancelled the week before because he confirmed the car would not be going on the dyno. He still kept the deposit. No file was written, the car stayed at home, and he told me cancellations are non-refundable once he has “allocated” the day. I never even got a receipt.

Limp mode started the day after the remap and the dash was lit up like a Christmas tree. He would not book it back in. He said I must have put bad fuel in and that his work was finished once I drove off. Weeks later it is still limping, and he has stopped answering.

The Transit was a working van. After the remap it was not. It shook, cut out under load, and poured smoke on every pull up the hill out of the estate. I could not use it for the round. I told him the day it happened. His only answer was a price for a second visit, cash, and a claim that the first payment did not cover “putting it right”. I said the remap was what had made it undrivable. He stopped replying until I turned up, and then he still would not plug it in without more money. It failed the MOT on the spot. Excessive smoke, emissions, and a warning lamp he told me to ignore. I have reported the whole thing to Trading Standards, including the messages where he refuses to touch it unless I pay again. The van is still sat there. I am hiring instead, and he has kept every pound of the original bill.

The car went into limp mode on the drive home after the remap and has not been right since. I rang the same afternoon and again the next morning. He told me it was not his problem and that I should take it to a dealer. No offer to look at it, no offer to put the original file back on. I am stuck with a car I cannot use properly.

I was told each remap was custom and live-tuned on the dyno. The car never went on the dyno. It was plugged in on the drive and a file was written on. Looking online afterwards, I can see the same file for about £25. A real let-down for what I was charged.

The Golf was fine when I handed the keys over. It came back undrivable. It would not pull, the turbo whistled, and within a mile it was smoking badly enough that people were flashing me. I limped it back to the unit. He had a look, shrugged, and said the engine must have been tired and that the cure was more money for “extra work” on top of the tune. I did not pay it. The car failed its MOT the following month, smoke and emissions, and the garage that tested it would not let it leave under its own power. While I was waiting for a recovery truck I spoke to the two businesses next door. Both of them, separately, said this is common with him. They told me he blows cars up, that they see the recovery trucks, and that they have watched the same argument on that forecourt more than once. I believe them. My engine is damaged, he still will not come out unless I transfer him another payment, and I am left with a Golf that will not drive and will not pass an MOT.

I had the DPF taken off when the car was mapped. It failed the MOT a few weeks later because of it. I went back and he shrugged and said the MOT station was being awkward. No help putting it back to a state that would pass, and no refund. I have now got the bill for putting the car legal again.

I paid a deposit and then cancelled because I found out the car was not going on the dyno. He refused to return it. He said the slot was booked so the money was his, even though no work had been done and the car never went near a ramp. I am still chasing that deposit.

I booked on the promise of a live custom map off the rollers. It never saw a dyno. He loaded a file and sent me on my way. I have since found that same file advertised online for £25. For the money I paid, it feels like an off-the-shelf tune with a story wrapped around it. A complete let-down.

The car was undrivable after he handed it back, so I complained and asked for the original software. That is when he said he knew where I lived and that I should think carefully before I pushed it. I was frightened, and I dropped the argument. Nothing has been fixed.

I took the 320d in for a remap and drove home in a car I could barely keep running. It hunted, surged, and then dropped into limp mode before I had left the industrial estate. By the next morning it was smoking, a thick grey haze every time I asked it for the hill, and the cabin stank. I rang him the same day. He said it needed “a stronger file” and quoted me again, almost as much as I had already paid. I refused. A week later it failed the MOT on emissions, the tester pointing at the smoke and the warning lights before he had even finished the checks. I went back with the failure sheet. He would not look at the car unless I paid for another session, and he would not put the original software back on. I have reported him to Trading Standards. The car has since been at an independent, still off the road, and the bill for undoing his work is mine. He has not offered a penny back.
