Hicks MOT & Service Centre (Reading)

Hicks is an absolute pleasure to deal with, the service is excellent, the garage is obviously well run and efficient, but above all the staff are the nicest and friendliest of any garage I’ve been to.

I do find this garage very expensive. Most garages don't charge for diagnostics, or it would be nice if you authorise repair that they didn't charge for diagnostic. As much as I like this garage I really can't afford to keep going there.

if you want work done, don`t go there ... weeks and weeks waiting for nothing. Overpriced asf. and in the end my car had scratches that didnt when i left it ... when you say something ofcourse is only your faulth, just overall DISGUSTING. thanks

I always feel safe that I am given good advice and not paying over the odds for the work carried out.

I have been using this garage for many years. Volvo advised the clutch needed replacing about 8 years ago (without seeing the car). Hicks road tested it and told me it was fine and it was. Hicks always keep me informed on any additional works needed and offer great customer service all round.

Very friendly and helpful staff who are great with information and advice. The quality of the work is excellent. They’re one of the few garages I’ve used who are honest and fair. Highly recommended!

Excellent service. Unable to remove oil change warning on dashboard which is a nuisance but otherwise excellent thank you.

Great handover after work was done. All advisories and work carried out was explained to me. Was told I could call if I was worried about anything or needed more explanation!

First time visiting for an MOT, while I was there I mentioned I had a problem with both my key fobs. They replaced the batteries in both the fobs for free. They were all so lovely, helpful and professional. Would highly recommend this garage and will definitely be returning.

Efficient and friendly

Don’t go anywhere else. Best independent garage I’ve ever been too. Friendly , accommodating, honest and don’t try and rip you off. Their hourly rate is half that of main dealerships repairs. I always take my vehicles there now 👍😬

Very happy with the quality and promptness of their work, and the helpfulness of the staff. Since the car was returned, the front NS tyre pressure warning has been signalling. I checked the pressure and it was fine. Was any damage done when the tyres were inflated during the service?

The staff at Hicks were absolutely fabulous. Kept me informed by telephone when the part was in, and fitted the new part very quickly. On picking up my vehicle they gave me advice as to what the oxygen sensor does and how to avoid it having to be refitted again. Special thankyou to Arron and Kelly.
