I was staying in a Travel lodge 5 miles from John Burgess garage. We were on short holiday at Alton Towers. At 18.30pm on Wednesday 7th April the drive belt on my car snapped. I looked through Yellow Pages and located Burgess Garage as the nearest postcode to me. I called the number and luckily got through to John. I explained the situation and he advised of what the fault was. He then offered assistance with the car if I could not drive it to the garage. We arranged that I would drop it off that night and he would repair it as quickly as possible the next day. We were going to Alton towers on the Thursday but obviously with the car out of action that was at risk. John said he would get the car fixed ASAP and let me know, therefore I expected the car by mid afternoon. I was lying in the hotel room at 08.10am when I received a call from John stating that the car was repaired and ready for collection. When I arrived he informed me that due to my situation he went to the motor factors at 07.30am on his way to work rather than waiting on the delivery driver and came into work early and did the job. I was absolutely thrilled and grateful for that. Then he told me the price which was even better, less than £40, delighted. In my circumstances, a garage could have charged me almost anything and I would have paid but John was genuine, honest and extremely pleasant. An absolute joy to do business with. If anyone reading this is looking for a garage to get work done on a car, then this is certainly the place. This guy went way above the call of duty for us and due to this we were able to get to the park for 10am and enjoyed our day. My kids were not bored looking out of a hotel room window.
