My car went into limp mode and took it in. Had car for a week and kept telling me they couldn't fix it. Asked for car back to take it elsewhere and was told when I arrived it was fixed but the bill was £500+. Fault came back after two days. Took to main dealer. Said work carried out was incomplete. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Garage Response: Vehicle brought in because of light on dashboard and power loss. We suspected limp home mode was activating. Customer stated that they did not want to spend a lot of money on solving fault, so New Willow Garage took this into consideration when investigating the fault, whilst explaining the cost implications of DPF failure if this is what it turned out to be. Prior to conducting a forced regeneration, we carried out diagnostic showing blocked DPF and a failed auto regeneration. Oil levels were checked and they were vastly overfilled due to contamination during the car’s auto regeneration. Therefore the oil and filter were changed and treatments were used in accordance with allowing regeneration to be completed passively. The fuel filter was changed as did not look as if changed for a long time and indeed appeared original, although was informed the car was recently serviced but cheaply. The customer expressed doubts as to the quality of the service. The codes were cleared and the vehicle was given a test drive but the light was still on and still power loss. When we attempted a forced regeneration, heavily blocked DPF codes were still present. Prior to the road test, all pipes and relevant connections were examined. The options were explained to the customer: • Removal and manual cleaning • or new DPF (cost prohibitive) The customer suggested DPF being taken off. We informed him this could be done but it was not cheap and we would not get involved in this as removal is an MOT failure and against Government regulations. We are aware of a garage doing this but that it is booked up for some time to the best of my knowledge. The customer also found a garage out of the area on the Internet willing to either: • diagnostically clean (about £120.00) • manually clean (£380.00) We informed the customer that is the same as we are doing. The DPF was removed, cleaned with neat treatments, flushed and left to dry. The customer said that if this did not work, he wanted it back to take it to the garage found on the Internet. The DPF was refitted, the codes were cleared, a forced regeneration was successful and the road test showed no loss of power. Numerous extended road tests showed still no power loss but that the light kept returning with no codes present. The turbo pipes were removed and there was a very minor split in intercooler pipe (not visible on car). A new dealer part pipe was fitted and numerous extended road tests carried out showing no power loss nor a warning light. The customer’s car was returned with service bill, regeneration cost, parts cost and minimal labour bill. The customer was informed that all appears well but if there were any problems, to not hesitate to contact us and we would happily look into it. This did not arise. The next we knew of dissatisfaction was receipt of negative feedback, being informed via this that the light had come back on and that the customer had taken the car to yet another garage.

Honest helpful and good value for money. No rip off.

The most professional, competent and most importantly, honest garage I've been to. The owner spent a good while discussing the reasons I might not want to get the work I'd requested, despite that possibly leaving him with less profit.

Very friendly and reliable service. Kevin did absolute wonders sorting my very old Peugeot 206 out for another year's MOT. Am already using the garage again to sort problems out on my camper van.
